Explore the six superb beaches on Torremolinos' coast. The most colourful and lively of the beaches is Playa de Bajondillo, where you’ll find an abundance of restaurants, sun lounges and watersports. For a quiet retreat, head west towards Playa Mar and Los Alamos.

Take a break from the beach to explore the former fishing village of La Carihuela. Discover a delightful weave of quiet lanes where patios brim with bougainvillaea and seafront cottages seem to exist in yesteryear. Take your pick from traditional sea-facing tapas bars and sample a plate of “pescaito frito”, a regional favourite of fried fish.

Seek refuge from the Spanish sun in Botanico Molino de Inca. This green oasis is bursting with over 500 species of exotic plants, ornamental fountains and a tranquil lake. Pack a picnic to enjoy amongst the beautiful gardens where you’ll see many species of birds.

Craving some culture? Visit Casa de Los Navajas, a beautifully restored Moorish mansion with elaborately decorated rooms and stunning views of the ocean. The mini-palace was built in 1925 and houses the Torremolinos Chic Gallery, which showcases photos and memorabilia from the area’s past.

Getting around

Torremolinos is a 10-minute taxi ride or 20-minute train journey from Malaga Airport. Paved footpaths and pedestrianised squares make getting around town easy, while local trains and buses are the best way to venture further along the Costa del Sol or into Malaga.
