Art buffs can visit the North Simon Museum to admire seven centuries of European art. Browse masterpieces by Van Gogh, Picasso and Rembrandt, tour a collection of South Asian sculpture and don’t miss the sculpture garden containing prominent pieces by Rodin.

Spend an afternoon at the Gamble House, one of the 10 most architecturally significant homes in America. Take a guided tour to learn about the 17 different types of wood incorporated into the construction, admire the stained-glass windows and note the subtle presentations of Gamble’s family rose and crane crest.

Stroll through Old Pasadena and embrace 22 blocks of history, including museums, galleries, shops and outdoor cafes. Grab a craft beer from Slater’s 50/50, enjoy a Mediterranean dish from Cafe Santorini or go shopping for chic clothing in Old Colorado.

For a day out in nature, embark on an adventure through Eaton Canyon. Hike the canyon trail to the Mt. Wilson Observatory, soak up views of the waterfall and keep your eyes peeled for lizards and snakes.

Getting around

The Metro Gold Line serves Arroyo Seco Parkway, Old Pasadena and East Pasadena and also connects to other Los Angeles rail lines. The easiest way to get around is by car, but the downtown area is also walkable.
