Wrapped around the Mediterranean coastline, halfway between Saint-Tropez and Cannes, Frejus is one of the hidden gems of the French Riviera. The Frejus waterfront is dominated by large holiday apartment buildings with views over the water. Visitors will find a large water park and a number of small sandy beaches, all ideal for families. Cross the main road, and it’s amazing how quickly the ambience can change. Within just a few steps, the charm of old-world France takes over. Frejus is on the coastal highway through the French Riviera, and there are regular buses from Saint-Tropez, Cannes, and Nice. The section close to the water has all the necessary tourist stores and facilities, while the old town, or Frejus-Centre, is located up the hill.

Every year, Frejus steps firmly back in time for the Giant Omelette Festival. Just as it sounds, the centrepiece involves a gargantuan omelette, although that’s accompanied by open-air markets and lazy afternoons on cafe terraces.
