About Chelsea

Chelsea's charming streets are an attraction in themselves, filled with fine dining restaurants, boutique designer shops, and exclusive cafes. Simply exploring at leisure makes Chelsea a delightful place to stay. Chelsea is located on the River Thames and is also an excellent hub for London's famous shops and museums.

Affluent Chelsea marks the start of West London and is home to some of London's most expensive real estate. Architecture along the postcard-perfect streets almost feels like it comes from a period drama and the borough is not shy about flaunting its wealth. King's Road slices through the borough and is home to a myriad of exclusive boutiques and designer stores, with price tags that mostly reserve them for window shopping.

Chelsea also has a prime location for a wealth of shopping and attractions across West and Central London. The borough is within 30 minutes walk of Harrods and Knightsbridge, the capital's two most famous shopping destinations. Kensington is just as close and is home to the free Natural History Museum and Science Museum, as well as the Royal Albert Hall. Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea Football Club, is located in nearby Fulham and stadium tours are possible when it's not a match day.

Chelsea is close to many attractions in both Central London and West London. The main Underground station is Sloane Square while three Underground stations in neighbouring boroughs are also convenient: Imperial Wharf, West Brompton and South Kensington. Red double-decker buses also serve the borough throughout day and night.

The 1963 Great Train Robbery goes down as the most iconic crime in Britain's recent history. It was plotted in The Star Tavern, a Chelsea pub that is virtually unchanged from the 60s, other than the photos of the famous criminals that now adorn the walls.
