Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters gets you up close with friendly marine life. Pet endangered zebra sharks, feed tawny nurse sharks and swim with spotted eagle rays. Head to the Tomaree and Tilligerry Peninsulas to enjoy some of the best koala viewing in New South Wales. From May to November, whale watching cruises offer a chance to see humpbacks migrating through Port Stephens - Great Lakes Marine Park.
The Stockton Sand Dunes stretch for 32 kilometres along the coast and have been shaped over thousands of years. Some of the tallest dunes are more than 30 metres high. There are lots of different ways to explore the dunes, from adrenaline-fuelled quad hike tours to relaxing horseback rides.
Bobs Farm offers easy access to more than 25 beaches, ranging from sandy bays to sheltered coves. Birubi Beach is a local favourite with soft sand, rolling waves and a great waterfront café. The Tomaree Head Summit Walk starts in Shoal Bay and leads to a series of lookout platforms. Enjoy sweeping views over Port Stephens and the shimmering South Pacific Ocean.
Bobs Farm is located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, a 40-minute drive from Newcastle and 2.5 hours from Sydney. Rental cars are the easiest way to visit Bobs Farm and explore surrounding sights and attractions. Sydney Airport is a 2.5-hour drive south.
