About Bermagui

A charming fishing port on the Sapphire Coast, Bermagui lures in anglers, kayakers and outdoors enthusiasts. From National Parks to saltwater pools and picturesque wineries, this bustling small-town community offers unforgettable experiences.

Things to do

Departing from Bermagui Harbour, deep-sea and big-game fishing expeditions offer the chance to bring in yellowfin tuna and black marlin. Eateries at Bermagui Fishermen’s Wharf serve fresh seafood and are surrounded by small shops, wine bars and a weekly farmer’s market.

At Wallaga Lake, you can enjoy boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking with the family. Wallaga National Park covers the east shore of the lake, while Wallaga Lake Road leads to the striking Camel Rock formation. Spend some time surfing, snorkelling and swimming at Camel Rock Surf Beach.

Fertile farms and vineyards harbour some of the region’s favourite wine-and-dine venues. Spend an evening at the cellar door of Mimosa Wines and accompanying Drystone Restaurant. Visit the Tilba Valley Wines and Vineyard or Rusty Fig Wines, an estate winery resting in the shadow of Gulaga Mountain.

For other nature-inspired outings, head to Mimosa Rocks National Park, Horseshoe Bay or the alluvial diggings at Montreal Goldfield. Kids will enjoy swimming at the saltwater Blue Pool or Bruce Steer Pool, a short walk from Main Street. While in town, check out Shop7 Artspace and Ivy Hill Gallery to find artwork by Bermagui artists.
