About Batangas City Sports Center

Centred around Batangas City, Batangas State University is the top mechanical and electrical engineering school in the Philippines. Established in 1903, it now serves over 40,000 students.

There are ten campuses of Batangas State University spread throughout the Batangas province. The flagship campus, known as Governor Pablo Borbon Main Campus I, is located in Batangas City, the regional capital. There is another campus, Governor Pablo Borbon Main Campus II in Batangas City, and two satellite campuses and six extension campuses spread throughout the region.

The main campus of Batangas State University is rather centrally located in Batangas City on Rizal Avenue. It is less than a 15-minute walk from Plaza Mabini. Batangas Port would be a 20-minute walk away or a five-minute drive. Batangas City is a 2.5-hour drive from Manila, the country’s capital.

Originally, Batangas State University was a simple Manual Training School with a special focus on woodworking. Over the years, additional trade programs began accepting students, such as cosmetology and food trades. Engineering courses began in 1971. There was a large boom of programming between 1995 and 2000, with courses added for architecture, fine arts, psychology, marine biology and many other fields.
